The Guided Setup Option is built for facilities that know what they want to sort but are less certain about how to lay out the line. Instead of handing over a generic equipment list, we walk through your floor plan, your apple varieties, and your target throughput before a single conveyor section is ordered.

Most sorting problems are not about the machine itself. They are about the decisions around it: where the infeed sits, how many grading lanes you actually need, whether the reject chute should feed a rework table or a waste bin. This option exists to settle those questions before you commit to hardware.

What the guided setup covers

The engagement starts with a site assessment. We measure your available floor space, check the existing electrical supply, and review how fruit currently moves from storage to packing. From there we produce a line layout that matches your real constraints, not a brochure diagram.

You get a written specification that includes:

Conveyor section lengths and belt widths matched to your building columns
Optical sorter placement relative to lighting and access walkways
Grading lane count based on your daily volume and pack sizes
Reject handling recommendations for culls, juice-grade fruit, and rework
A phased installation order so you can keep part of the line running

Where the tradeoffs show up

Every packing line involves compromises. A longer inspection section gives operators more time to spot defects but takes up floor space. A wider belt moves more fruit per minute but may exceed what your existing staff can handle at the packing end. The guided setup makes these tradeoffs visible early, when changes are still cheap.

We also flag the constraints that are easy to miss. Ceiling height affects hopper and elevator angles. Column spacing limits how long a straight conveyor run can be. Drainage and washdown access determine which belt material makes sense. These details rarely appear in a standard quote, but they decide whether the line runs smoothly in month six.

What you receive at the end

The deliverable is a setup document you can hand to your own installation crew or use as the basis for a formal equipment order. It includes dimensioned drawings, a component list with model references, and a sequence of work steps. You also get a clear note on what we recommend doing first, so the project has a sensible starting point.
